About Lee Baxter

The person behind the music – a personal look at Lee Baxter, his path, his values and the stories behind the songs.

The path of an artist

For Lee Baxter, music was never just a profession, but always an expression of personality, attitude, and feeling. It became clear early on that he wasn’t only drawn to the stage, but above all to storytelling – honest, relatable, and emotional.

Lee rose to fame in the 1990s as a member of the successful boy band Caught in the Act. This period was marked by great success, public attention, and intense experiences. At the same time, it laid the foundation for his future career as a musician and artist – with all the experiences that come with a life in the spotlight.

Today, Lee Baxter looks back on those years with gratitude and uses them as a foundation for his own musical work. His path led him further: to personal development, artistic freedom, and the desire to make music that is authentic and touches the heart – beyond trends and expectations.

Between success and reorientation

Lee Baxter‘s time with Caught in the Act brought him into the public eye early on. International success, sold-out venues, and enormous media attention characterized these years, as did the experience of being part of a tightly scheduled music industry. For Lee, this period was intense, instructive, and an important phase in his artistic development.

After the band’s breakup, a new chapter began. Moving away from the boy band context, the desire for greater artistic independence and personal expression grew. Music should no longer follow predetermined roles, but rather offer space for personal themes, emotions, and musical diversity. From this reorientation, Lee’s current path as a solo artist gradually developed.

Acting as an artistic foundation

Besides music, acting played a central role in Lee Baxter’s artistic development from an early age. Immediately before joining Caught in the Act, Lee completed his acting training at the renowned Guildford School of Acting – a period that profoundly shaped his understanding of expression, stage presence, and character.

This experience also proved beneficial during Caught in the Act’s early years. The band’s breakthrough in Germany came at the end of 1994, partly through appearances on the daily soap opera Gute Zeiten, schlechte Zeiten (Good Times, Bad Times), in which the band played themselves – an environment familiar to Lee due to his training.

Even after his boy band days, acting remained a recurring part of his career. Lee appeared, among other roles, in the hit British series Torchwood, playing a Welsh police officer. For him, acting and music continue to be two complementary and mutually enriching forms of expression.

Today, Lee Baxter stands for music born of conviction. His songs are more personal, direct, and closer to what moves him – both musically and personally. It’s less about fleeting trends and more about authenticity, emotion, and telling stories that resonate.

As a solo artist, Lee has found his own style: shaped by experience, openness, and the desire to understand music as a unifying element. Live, this means intimacy, exchange, and genuine moments – both in the studio and on stage.

His journey is not a closed chapter, but a continuous development. With each new release and every performance, Lee Baxter continues to write his story – authentically, thoughtfully, and

… with the joy of music that remains.
